Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala, for it is with His blessings that we again immerse ourselves in the goodness and spirituality of Ramadhan.
Ramadhan is a blessing from Allah s.w.t. to renew our connection to our Creator, our roots and to the wider humanity.
The act of refraining from the common human needs of eating, drinking and the many other worldly desires are not only a test of our resolve, but also a reminder of the lives of others who get by with a lot less. It is a reminder to be thankful for the bounties bestowed upon us, and a reminder to us, as individuals and as an Organisation, to help by feeling, empathising and relieving the difficulties and limitations faced by others. For every person who has more than us, there are many more who have a lot less.
Hari Raya is a time for us to reconnect with our families. To go back to our roots and remember where we came from. To go back to those dearest to us who helped us get to where we are, and who take pride every single day for what we have become. It is an opportunity to express our gratitude, and share our time and wealth with those who have sacrificed much for us. Who allowed us to grow to be what we are.
It is my sincere hope that we emerge from Ramadhan with renewed hope for ourselves and those around us. May this refreshed spirit of caring and humility stay with us until next Ramadhan, and beyond. As a way of life. As we together propel PETRONAS to greater heights in these challenging times, we must never let go of these qualities that will bind us together as one cohesive PETRONAS.
As an organisation we must continue to place importance on merit, professionalism and integrity, the hallmarks of an accomplished IOC. Let us do so acutely conscious of our roots; and to do so with compassion and humility.
On the very auspicious occasion of Aidilfitri, I wish to record my sincere appreciation to each and every member of the PETRONAS family for the cooperation extended to me in carrying out my responsibilities and amanah in the last three years. I look forward to collaborating meaningfully in the next three years to take our great organisation to greater heights. Working on everyone’s strength. For the common good.
Lastly, Wan Noorlina joins me in wishing everyone a safe and blessed Hari Raya Aidilfitri and to seek forgiveness for any error of commission or omission.
